A pair of early 20th century Chinese bronze freestanding lanterns, with removable hexagonal bell shaped covers, flaming finial, and bells hanging from each corner, the ovoid bodies pierced with a floral decoration and having a hinged door, the bases cast with relief panels, a dragon curled around the stem and tortoises swimming to the lower rim, previously drilled and fitted for electricity, 17 by 36cm. (2) Provenance: The Estate of Mr Joseph B. Hay, son of Major-General Arthur K. Hay DSO OBE - 100 years of a military family.
