A Royal Navy WW1 group of three to Lieut. N. H. Beaver R.N.: 1914-15 Star, British War Medal and Victory Medal.

Commander Noel Herbrand Beaver (1893-1949) was the younger son of Brigadier Frederick Tyssen McKinley Beaver (1852-1928) and Zoe Harriet Tribe (1862-1960). He took his middle name from Herbrand Russell, 11th Duke of Bedford, the husband of his maternal aunt. Beaver was made an acting sub-lieutenant in 1912, promoted lieutenant in 1915 and appointed command of the patrol boat P11 in 1918. Promoted lieutenant-commander in 1923, he retired as a commander in 1937.
