Meiji period, an unusual decorative Japanese Satsuma plate decorated with warriors on foot and horseback, in a butterfly shaped cartouche, against a deep blue ground with gilt decoration of exotic birds and foliage, with signature mark to the reverse and floral motif. 24.5cm. *CR Good condition, very slight rubbing to gilding around the border.
