HENRIETTA & CAROLINE CROMPTON (circa 1836) An album (spine broken) containing drawings and wash sketches depicting views on the Continent and Switzerland, some inscribed; subjects include 'Frankfurt sketched on the Road to Darnstadt'; Heidelberg; Baden Baden; Wiesbaden; Fribourg; Brientz; and Chillon from Villeneuve', album page size 10 1/2 x 14 1/2 in (26.7 x 36.8cm). Ink inscription to the inside cover of the album states 'Henrietta and Caroline accompanied their dear brother Robert Edward Crompton on a sojourn to the Rhine and Switzerland 1836'.
There are approx 58 sketches with either some pain or some ink and approx 13 unfinished pencil sketches.
