£1,000
Two Chinese celadon funerary vases, one dated 1404, each with elongated ovoid body, engraved with a lotus leaf headed panel, inscription and date, below a low relief border lotus flowers and tendrils, the neck ringed and the trumpet mouth fluted, together with an Oxford Authentication Ltd certificate, of a sample taken from the first vase, dating the piece to being fired between 500 & 800 years ago, 47.9cm high
In all sense they are a pair however there are some differences. There is a slight difference in height, 48cm & 47.5cm. The smaller vase has two incised panels whereas the larger vase has only one. There are glaze flakes on both interior and exterior rims, leading to some small losses.
