An early 19th century gilt metal & enamel pair cased pocket watch the white enamel dial with black Roman numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial and gold spade hands, the chain fusee movement having an engraved balance cock to the plain steel balance and signed Edward Robinson, 9 & 10 The Square, Shrewsbury, the gilt metal inner case with fine repoussé decoration, the outer case inlaid with blue and red enamel decoration with a classical figure depicted to the rear, stamped with the maker's mark ITP, diameter 46mm. With a number of watch papers inserted to the case rear, one for Edward Robinson of Broad Street, Welshpool and 9 & 10 The Square, Shrewsbury, another for Edward Robinson London & Shrewsbury, Gold, Silver and Gilt watches, and others for David Lloyd, 9 Broad Street, Welshpool, Edward Robinson was the founder of the well-known Shrewsbury jewellers and watchmakers Edward Robinson & Co.
