A RARE SET OF CHAMBERLAIN WORCESTER PORCELAIN PLATES COMMISS...

This collection features the Nawab's emblem prominently displayed in the center, encircled by a floral wreath. The inscription reads, "Amir Al Hind Nawab Azam Jah Bahadur Hirji 1236. The pieces are adorned with a pink border, embellished with gilt scrollwork and clusters of embossed white flowers. The central area showcases the Nawab of the Carnatic's title, �Amir al-Hind Nawab �Azam Jah Bahadur, ’ in Arabic script, framed by a ring of colorful flowers and foliage. During the time this service was created, the Carnatic region of South India was nominally under the rule of Azam Jah, though the area had been annexed by the East India Company. The English influence in the region may have sparked a heightened interest in English porcelain.
