A late 18thC mourning brooch / memorial locket of navette form with hand painted sepia miniature scene to centre depicting two female mourners at a tomb titled Sacre a l'Amitie (Sacred to Friendship), bordered by seed pearls, the reverse with locket section and inscription dated 1790. 1 1/2" long overall.
