A RARE OTTOMAN SYRIAN DAMASCUS GLAZED POTTERY MOSQUE LAMP, 16TH- 17TH CENTURY

This exceptional Ottoman Syrian mosque lamp, dating to the 16th-17th century, is a rare and exquisite example of Damascus glazed pottery. The lamp features a beautifully hand-painted floral motif in green and blue hues, typical of the Ottoman aesthetic. The pierced and engraved metal mounts, likely added in the 18th-19th century, enhance its decorative appeal. The lamp is accompanied by a letter from the Victoria & Albert Museum, signed by Oliver Watson and dated 07/10/94, confirming its authenticity.
