Bible - English (Bishop's Bible) published Richard Jugge circa 1575, four separate subsection tp, double column with margin notes, etc, includes the Jeremiah 8.22 '...is There Not Triacle at Gilead' wording - often referred to as the 'Treacle Bible', quarto size, contemporary binding, woodcut headers, other woodcuts throughout the text, some handwritten notes, possible pages missing, edges of pages and some pages browned, final page, "Printed at London by Newgate, Margate, next unto Christes Churche by Richard Lugg printer to the Queen's Majesty", with woodcut vignette, inked name, both boards have separated and later engravings have been paste onto inside front and back boards, St James the Great and St Luke the Evangelist, full contemporary calf with blindstamped decoration and apparent repairs in leather to the boards (please see images)
