A PRIMITIVE ASH, OAK AND SYCAMORE OPEN ARMCHAIR, ENGLISH, CIRCA 1790. The gently curved back with two pairs of baluster-silhouette splats, centred by a bar cross rail and a conforming top rail, with applied small arch-shaped cresting, the plain back uprights with integral circular finials, tenon and pegged through the rear of the thick rectangular seat, outsplayed and round-ended flat and open arms on hand-shaped spindles, with five splayed and hand-shaped legs morticed through the seat, 58cm wide, 114cm high, 68cm deep, seat height 42cm.
