A Derby circular slop basin, pattern 119, the apricot ground reserved with a deep band of gilt tears within a Vandyke border, the rim gilt with linked ovals enclosed by gilt lines, 19.1cm diam, 8.1cm high, decorator's mark numbered 2 for Joseph Stables in puce, crown, crossed batons and D mark and inscribed Duesbury/Derby in puce, MS, collector's note to base, c.1795 This is a rare and unusual mark.
