The XJS was launched in 1975, and whilst the fabulous V12 engine could deliver outstanding performance, its thirst for petrol was legendary, which caused problems in the USA, where Jaguar were fined for publishing misleading figures. This promoted the first big change for the model, which was the new HE or High Efficiency engine in 1981. This combined with the much longer final drive, gave the XJS much better fuel economy, which was bearable.

This Jaguar XJ-S V12 HE is described by the vendor as being in fantastic condition, it drives as it should and benefits from a recent oil service and a new MOT. It is fitted with a stainless steel exhaust system, which was fitted by the previous owner. Much admired at shows with the Jaguar Drivers Club and various other events during the year. The air conditioning blows cold too...very rare for a car of this vintage! The overall condition of the car is excellent and the interior also looks very acceptable.
