A smokebox numberplate, 48605, from a LMS Class 8F 2-8-0 No 8605 built to Railway Executive Committee order by the Southern Railway at Eastleigh in 1943, becoming BR 48605. A long time Northwich engine, it finished its days with brief stays at Birkenhead and Aintree from where it was withdrawn in August 1966 and sold for scrap to Cashmores at Great Bridge.
