Medals (5) of 19398 (611256) Private Edwin Walter Westlake of the South Wales Borderers. 1914-1915 Star, British War Medal 1914-1920, Allied Victory Medal 1914-1918, Defence Medal 1939-1945, and War Medal 1939-1945. A resident of Harlesden, NW10. A gasfitter. Enlisted on 27th March 1915 and served with B Company, 1st Battalion, South Wales Borderers in Gallipoli for three months, transferring to Salonika on 5th November 1916 and joining 8th Battalion, South Wales Borderers. Wounded on 4th April 1917 and admitted to the 28th Casualty Clearing Station. On his recovery, he was posted to the 2nd Battalion, South Wales Borderers, in 1918. Transferred to the Labour Corps and joined the 34th Prisoner of War Company, Labour Corps.
