Flintlock duelling pistol by H.Nock, circa 1790. Octagonal barrel, length 10", and marked beneath with London proof marks and HN Patent, (for Nocks patent breech). Gold line and gold poincon marked Nock London beneath a crown, at breech. Finely chequered grip with flat sides and spur trigger guard. Henry Nock, London gunmaker at various addresses from 1770 to 1804. At 10 Ludgate Street 1784-1804. Gunsmith-in-Ordinary to King George III in 1789. Master of the Gunmakers Company 1802. Source "A Dictionary of London Gunmakers 1350-1850" by Blackmore. A superb collectors piece.
