A WILLIAM IV SILVER DESK STANDISH, maker's mark JA*IA, London 1831, of lobed oblong form with cast and applied scroll and flowerhead rim and raised upon four anthemion outcurved feet, centred by a cylinder with lift-off chamberstick with conical extinguisher on chain flanked by a pair of glass bottles with pierced lift-off covers, pen wells to each side, one engraved with a presentation inscription dated 1833, 9 1/2" wide, 18ozs 5dwts total (Est. plus 24% premium inc. VAT)

All pieces with matching generally badly struck mark, stand is badly scratched next to one of the well's holders in centre. The three holders are all held on with a wire to the base for ease of cleaning.
