SPECTACULAR ABERDEEN PICTORIAL LETTER-SHEET SENT PREPAID TO ROME VIA FRANCE; 14 Mar. 1842 EL (neatly reinforced folds) prepaid from Aberdeen to Rome with red boxed "PAID/AT/ABERDEEN" (overstruck) on the front with varied manuscript rates, having transit marks of Edinr., London & Beauvoisin etc.). Long interesting family contents headed inside by a spectacular engraving of "CASTLE STREET, ABERDN." (imprint of "W. Mitchell, 81 Union Street"), depicting prominent buildings a coach and varied pedestrians. Unusually the sender has written his own comments alongside the picture. Such early pictorial letter-sheets are rare used postally from G.B.
