London Underground Poster Beath International Cycle Race Wembley. Original vintage London Transport poster for the International Six Day Cycle Race that took place from the midnight 20 September to midnight 26 September 1936 in Wembley. Design by Beath (John M Fleming) features a silhouette on a bicycle cycling over orange and green background depicting day and night. London Underground logo doubling as sun in the top left corner. Six day cycling started as a bet by David Stanton in 1878 and developed as a cycling competition with races being held in the United States and Europe.
