Boer War Queens South Africa Medal Clasps Orange Free State and South Africa 1902, awarded to 3601 Serjeant J Masser E York Regt. 2nd battalion East Yorkshire Regiment medal rolls of 26 September 1902 and 28 February 1903 confirm award of medal and clasps to Serjeant Massey as detailed above. 2nd Battalion arrived in South Africa in April 1900, shortly afterwards they were in action at Biddulphsberg but their losses were not severe. The Battalion was no other major battle and its activities were limited to skirmishing with the enemy before eventually returning to Britain in late 1902.
