A finely worked 18th century band sampler by Martha Hoskins, featuring three short statements interspersed with the alphabet in several forms and stitches, flowers, birds, and crowns, the sampler being worked in silk on linen with “in the twelfth year of the reign of our sovereign Lord George King of Great Britain, France and Ireland defender of the Faith 1726”
In good order, one or two very tiny holes.
