Bronze Plate Inspired by the Hildesheimer Silberfund, Late 19th Century
This exquisitely detailed bronze plate, dating to around c.1880, is a finely crafted homage to the renowned Hildesheimer Silberfund, a significant archaeological discovery from the late 19th century. Measuring 30 cm in diameter and standing 1.5 cm high, the plate features intricate floral and scrollwork along its rim, reflecting the exceptional craftsmanship of the period. At its center, an engraved design showcases a coat of arms accompanied by the inscription "NACHBILDUNG DES HILDESHEIMER SILBERFUNDES," which means "Imitation of the Hildesheim Silver Find."
This plate captures the essence of the original Hildesheimer Silberfund, offering a tangible link to the past through its rich historical reference and detailed artistry. Very minor signs of aging, further enhance the character and authenticity of this well-preserved piece.
