An early to mid-19th century watercolour portrait miniature in the style of George Perfect Harding: a very finely executed shoulder-length version of Antonis Mor's 'Sir Philip Sidney' with the subject now in red doublet, and with ruff and gorget; watercolour with white and gilt highlights on paper, pasted onto card with annotation to the reverse reading '...P. Sidney...miniature extremely carefully finished...' (9.5cm in diameter, the engraved brass frame 10.1cm)
