4th VB The Queen’s (Royal West Surrey Regiment) Victorian Sergeant's pouch belt plate badge circa 1883-1901. Good scarce die-stamped blackened brass crowned laurel and palm sprays bearing scroll 4TH VOLUNTEER BATTALION all resting on THE ROYAL WEST SURREY REGIMENT scroll. Centrally, affixed to the seeded backing plate, a white metal Paschal Lamb on QUEEN'S tablet. Four screw posts. VGC HQ at New Street, Kennington Park, Raised 1860 at Lambeth as 19th Surrey RVC; became a VB of the Queens in 1881; redesignated as 4th VB on 1st March 1883.
