A fine 17th century German wheel lock rifle, having an octagonal barrel of approx. 18 mm and having a fore and rear sight, the wheel lock engraved a hunting scene, a castle and inscribed REDWIZ, the full stock richly inlaid in antler/horn with scenes of gods, lions, tigers, deer, boar, bear hunting, floral and other motifs, with an anatomical trigger guard, 110 cm long overall Provenance: From a Dorset Collection

Ramrod later, there is some occasional loss to the inlaid decoration, in particular to the pierced decoration on the underside of the wood, also some of the inlaid riggle/tendril is missing, the box cover to the stock is loose and falls out often, has not been wound or fired by us (naturally), some cracks
