Star Lot : A Brendan Hayes large original oil, acrylic and pastel painting on canvas board titled 'Stoneys Castle near Mulraney. Co Mayo'. Signed by artist bottom centre and dated 2003 to verso. Brendan Hayes is a well known Irish artist best known for his landscapes and seascapes in a gestural style. Hayes is also member of the Association of Artists in Ireland whose work has been widely shown internationally. Working mainly in oils, but also in pastel and acrylics, his paintings are especially noted for their powerful sense of place.
