A FIRST WORLD WAR PAIR TO THE CONNAUGHT RANGERS. A Great War pair comprising 1914-15 Star named to 697 Pte G. Baker Conn Rang and Victory Medal similarly named. Private George Baker from Sylvester, Liverpool enlisted on the 2nd September 1914. He served with the 3rd and 5th (Service) Battalion Connaugt Rangers and with the Labour Corps as number 391192. He entered France on the 9th July 1915. Baker was reported in the 17th April 1917 in the Police Gazette as 'deserter or absentee who has rejoined or who for any other reason, is not to be apprehended'. *CR New ribbons, surface marks as usual.
