Irish Queens Own Royal Dublin City Militia Victorian Officer helmet plate circa 1878-81. Good scarce die-stamped silvered crown star mounted with circlet QUEENS OWN ROYAL REGIMENT resting in laurel sprays; velvet centre bearing the three flaming castles of Dublin Arms. Loops. VGC Raised in 1793, redesignated Royal Dublin City Militia in 1815 later adding the title Queen Own became 4th Bn Royal Dublin Fusiliers on Friday 1st July, 1881. Gordon Cummings Collection.
