With original typed BEM recommendation, "Has served with this Regt since its formation at the outbreak of war. His organising and administrative ability, added to his skill at quick improvisation, has proved of the greatest assistance and his unusual knowledge of procedure has been of the greatest value in training in administrative staff duties myself, my adjutants and my senior officers.
In the early days of the war, I was compelled to throw a large amount of responsibility for administrative policy on the shoulders of this NCO. This task he cheerfully accepted and carried out with excellent results.
In addition, during this period his regular duties were of an exceptionally trying character involving very long hours of work and the exercise of much patience and meticulous preparation; but he has successfully coped with everything I have asked him to do.
He is a registered candidate for the award of the MSM. was recommended by OCRA Fixed Defences Welsh Ports for the award of the MBE in 1937, signed by Arthur Forman C.O. 61st A.T. Regt.
