Jackson, Bristol, a lancet arch-top bracket clock, the eight-day duration, double-fusee movement having an anchor escapement and striking the hours on a bell, the backplate engraved with scroll decoration and signed Jackson, Bristol, the round white painted dial having black Roman numerals, blued-steel hands and signed J. Jackson, Bristol, the mahogany lancet-shaped case inlaid with brass decoration and having ebonised edging, with brass fretwork to the sides below cast-brass handles, all standing on ball feet, height 45cm. With paperwork showing the various repair marks, the first dated 1821. Biography Joseph Jackson was a well-known clockmaker working at 17 St. Augustine's Parade, Bristol having been apprenticed to Thomas Palmer in 1813, and was the son of the maker Jacob Jackson.
