1914 Star, Victory Medal and London Fire Brigade Good Service Medal to 592 Pte W. Smalley 1/Sea Highrs (W.A. Smalley Sea Highrs on Victory, Fireman W.A. Smalley on Fire), very fine. With copied MIC and casualty list, he landed in France 12/10/14, casualty list shows him admitted to No 6 Clearing Hospital 13/11/14 with G.S.W. left thigh. MIC shows bar to star not issued which seems strange when he was wounded within the qualifying time frame. With typed Fire Brigade history showing he was born 15/8/93, joined Fire Brigade 23/8/23, served at Edgeware Rd, Peckham Rd, Pageant Wharf, Pageant Wharf Water Supply, promoted T/Sub Offr 29/2/40, T/Stn Offr 19/5/41, Long Service issued 26/6/39.
