George Tupman, an early 19th century gilded metal pair cased verge fusee pocket watch, white enamel dial with Roman numerals and outer Arabic minutes, the movement signed and numbered 1046, rose diamond end stone, 59mm.
Britten’s ‘Old clocks and watches and their makers’ lists George Tupman as working at 6, Charles Street, Grosvenor Square. He moved to Old Bond Street c.1830 where he worked until c.1842
