British School Medals (3) unmarked silver d.63mm, each 120-126g: Three rare and impressive Eton College commemorative medals or awards featuring a statue of Henry VI, two shields of arms besides. / 'sigillu comune preposiliet collegii regalie beate marie de eton', a representation of the coronation of the Virgin. A similar example was in the Preston-Morley Buckinghamshire Collection, DNW 19-6-2002, lot 652, where it was described as the 500th Anniversary of the Founding of Eton College (medal) by Pinches - also described as silver (the present examples test/gun as silver but are unmarked). The Preston-Morley piece seems undated but assumed to be 1941 (college founded 1440). Of the present pieces one is undated, one is engraved 1937 in exergue, and one is engraved 'STOKE POGES 1932' on plinth and '78' in exergue. These all GEF in original cases gilt on lid with Eton coat of arms 'FLOREAT ETONA', and silk marked 'Johnson, Walker & Tolhurst Ltd. 21, Conduit Street, W. London'.
