An 18th century Channel Islands silver christening cup, maker's mark IH struck once to base (Jean Henry, Guernsey c,1727-1783) of typical form, but with unusually straight sides and angle to lower bowl above foot, with cast beaded S-scroll handles, waisted foot, inscribed 'ETR Don Defau Parain', 2 5/8in. (6.7cm.) high, weight 2.55 tr.oz.. * Waisted food creased in three places (misshaped), small dents on lower angled section, possible old repair to inner foot?.
