2nd Life Guards Officer helmet circa 1902-22.

A fine scarce example. Skull of German silver decorated with gilt brass laurel and oak leaf design. Gilt rose pattern ear bosses support a gilt brass leather backed chin chain, gilt metal ornate spine. To front, enamelled helmet plate of regulation pattern. To top of the helmet a gilt and silver fluted spike supports the white horse hair plume, this complete with a plain gilt domed boss. Complete with original silk adjustable lining, now slightly shot. Minor service wear, overall VGC.
