A VICTORIAN 1895 INFANTRY OFFICERS SWORD BY HENRY WILKINSON.
With an 82cm pointed blade with etched decoration and previous owners initials G.E.W. the blade marked for Henry Wilkinson Pall Mall, London, numbered 31215 to the back and 54 to the lower edge. With a wire bound fish skin grip and three quarter guard, with leather covered service scabbard, 100cm overall, the number suggests a date of 1892, possibly the fifth sword manufactured that year. With a French sword bayonet with curved blade and numbered FG4698, 69cm overall.
