Shotgun: a fine continental 16 bore side by side boxlock ejector by the Gunmakers Guild of Ferlach, Austria (Genoss. d. Buchsenmacher), early 20thC. 27'' Stahl 'Boehler Blitz' steel barrels with 2 1/2'' (65mm) chambers, original German and Birmingham reproof marks on the barrel flats, concave engine-turned rib with bead foresight. Figured walnut pistolgrip stock with horn grip cap, chequered hand and fore-end, 14 3/8'' LOP (including stock extension.) The scalloped action with side clips, cross bolt and double triggers, profusely engraved with gamescenes, acanthus and foliate scrollwork with elements of art noveau styling.
