A Colonial Auxiliary Forces long service pair to a senior officer of the Canadian Machine Gun Corps: Colonial Auxiliary Forces Decoration GRI cypher named on
reverse to Lt Col J Harris 4th Bn CMGC, together with Colonial Auxiliary Forces Long Service Medal, GVR issue with fixed suspender, named to: Major J Harris 4th Bde
CMGC; officially impressed naming. The CMGC was formed as a Militia unit in 1917 in response to the necessity for
greater control over the deployement and use of machine guns. The 4th Brigade (later 4th Battalion) was in support of the 4th Canadian Division. The Corps was disbanded in
1936 following the reorganisation of the Militia. Medals mounted court style for display. Good Very Fine (GVF) condition.
