Interesting two train turret clock, the movement within a dark green painted cast iron chair frame with deadbeat type escapement and the arms of the pallet fixed, 28" wide, 17" deep, 23" high (with nine various weights, two pendulum disc bobs, pendulum rod, hammer striker and a L shaped frame, 26" high)

** This is an example of a chair frame turret clock where the frames are fixed by tapered pins rather than threaded fixings. The frame is made from cast iron which became popular towards the end of the 18th century as opposed to the wrought iron strip. The method of assembling the frame with pins and the fact that the arms of the pallet are fixed suggest this clock was made around the end of the 18th century. The exact origin and maker of this clock are not known but the type of construction was very common in the Midlands and North
