More Information

The canvases are both relined. The first picture has a subtle craquelure and presents an unevenly applied varnish. UV light reveals various scattered retouching, most notably in the foliage in the background. Further retouching is present on the figures, most evidently on the hat of the man at the centre. The second picture presents an evenly applied varnish and fewer retouches in the background. However, a scratch, which has not though penetrated the canvas, yes is quite deep, is visible to the left of the group of people. In conclusion, a few retouches are present on the visages. Framed measurements: Each 72.5 x 60. 5 cm
