*Peter Barrett [b.1935]- Bird studies; Jay, Magpie, Rook,:- a set of three watercolour each signed and dated 2018 each 28 x 35cm, mounted, unframed. [3] * Biography Peter Barrett was born in India in 1935 and educated at Dulwich College and the St Martins, Chelsea and Camberwell Art Schools. He worked in design groups and advertising in London, Canada and Athens and held four exhibitions of abstract paintings at the Drian Galleries in London, having two large works accepted for Royal Academy Summer Shows. From 1970 he focussed on illustrating wildlife for clients including the Sunday Times, The Observer, Reader's Digest and Mitchell Beazley. He also illustrated books by David Attenborough, Desmond Morris, Gerald Durrell and James Herriot. Since 1979 he has had regular exhibitions at London galleries and in Greece. For the last ten years he has been painting his own subjects and exhibiting locally. Peter lives on the Devon-Somerset border overlooking the Culm Valley with his wife Susan, a writer of fiction and nonfiction. Their most recent collaboration is a book titled 'So Far, So Good. Sixty years together in words and pictures'.
