A FIRST WORLD WAR CASUALTY PAIR TO THE LIVERPOOL REGIMENT. A Great War pair comprising War Medal and Victory Medal named to 94394 Pte A. Offord L'Pool R. Arthur Offord was a Manchester man, the son of Mr and Mrs A. Offord of Ipswich and husband to Ada Offord of 37 Thorn Grove Fallowfield, Manchester. He served with the 1/5th Battalion of the King's (Liverpool Regiment) and died of wounds on the 7th April aged 48 having formerly been 23793 with the Manchester Regiment. He is buried at the Chocques Military Cemetery, his headstone reads 'I Heard the Voices of Jesus Come unto me and Rest'. *CR Normal light wear to surfaces. A lot fee of £8 inc. VAT will be charged on top of the hammer price and BP on all lots.
