NEW BRUNSWICK - RARE "CLAIMED-IN-FORM-No.[2]/BY-ST-JOHN" MARK ON STAMPED COVER EX G.B. VIA USA; 7 Sept. 1864 EL from Liverpool to Miramichi "Pr. Inman Steamer via New York" but only franked with GB 6d Lilac (small letters) + 1d Red pair (pl.76?) tied by v. fine "466" Liverpool numerals; the rate by this route was 1s-2d rather than the 8d paid, so there is a very fine "INSUFFICIENTLY/PREPAID" mark as well as black "6" and "12½" plus red crayon "2" m/s marks (6d underpaid and claimed and 2c claimed by USA giving a final 12c postage due charge).
