A Chinese inscribed bronze 'square pagoda' censer and cover, 17/18th C.

H.: 50 cm



Engraved inscription to the lower part: '寶鼎呈祥', '法輪常轉', '帝道逝(世)昌', '佛日增輝'.
Translation: 'The vessel (Ding) presents auspicious', 'The Dharma wheel keeps turning', 'The way the emperor governs the country is to make the world prosperous', 'Buddhism can nourish the hearts of all living beings, just like the sun shines on the earth'.
