Early 1950s an original Football Rattle in hardwood and painted in red and white with a hint of blue (maybe dating from the year of Queen Elizabeth II coronation celebration) Football Rattles like this were taken to football matches by the keenest of fans and were used to raise the crowd noise when their team either scored or gained a corner etc; many of the early post war, FAC finals featured the football fans in groups, using them. There is no chance that they would be allowed in the grounds these days, this item is still working and is quite heavy and cumbersome, certainly an item of curiosity dating back to the early years after WW2; fair condition, still working.
