Trial of the Pyx 2016 Silver proof 50p featuring the Battle of Hastings in 1066. The Trial of the Pyx is an ancient and annual ceremony that tests the integrity of the coins struck by the Royal Mint to include, size, weight, composition etc. Just 10 of each of these coins were returned from the process. Individually presented and includes full literature of the ceremony as well as a signed COA. The 2017 Trial was the first time coins were subsequently offered to collectors.
