Dynamo propeller From Allcock & Browne Vickers Vimy bomber, this flew across the Atlantic in 1919 in the first air crossing. On take off from Newfoundland the propeller blade were broken by a bird strike (Goose) resulting in no electricity for flying suit heating and radio communications. When they reached Clifden, they were too cold to continue and landed on the bog in Derrygimlagh, adjoining the Marconi station. They presented the Prop to Mr. Teigue radio operator at the station, who gave it to the current owner during the 1950’s. Mounted on a wooden base, with hand written description thereon. Propeller measures c.4.5in wide
