GONVILLE BROMHEAD V.C. SIGNED HAND WRITTEN LETTER DATED 24/5/80, Lieutenant Bromhead (later Major) was awarded the Victoria Cross for his actions at Rorke's Drift 22nd January 1879 - 23rd January 1879. Bromhead was born in Versailles, France, the youngest child of Major Sir Edmond De Gonville Bromhead 3rd Baronet and was raised in Thurlby, Lincolnshire. His V.C. is displayed at the regimental museum of The Royal Welsh, Brecon.
