IMPORTANT LARGE HUON GULF FACE BOWL, TAMI ISLANDS. Carved and engraved hardwood and natural pigment. Black is faded probably because they used battery black instead of traditional methods. Approx L78 x 36.5cm. PROVENANCE Made by nomue (age late middle) once owned by BHP via S. Pacific Timbers. BHP Mining company Purchased from Morobe Cultural Centre 1980 Private collection, New South Wales
