A rare trio of Bristol blue glass vases with gilt peacock design within fine foliate decoration.
In an Asprey fitted leather presentation case inscribed 'Investcorp / Presented to / the Rt. Hon. Baroness Thatcher of Kesteven, OM FRS. / By / Nemir A. Kirdar / President and Chief Executive Officer / To mark the opening of Investcorp's new offices at / 48 Grosvenor Street, London, W1 / On Thursday October 27th 1994.'
James Giles is best known as a decorator of Worcester porcelain. Around a fifth of his workshop's production was in gilded and enamelled glass of the highest quality. Giles bought his glass from the White Friar's Glass House.
